"Being a first generation immigrant myself, I’ve always wanted to learn more about ways to help asylum seekers and their rights. I’m therefore very grateful that this project has given me an opportunity to contribute to their community, which has also further reinforced my understanding that access to legal advice is extremely vital for social minorities to flourish in society. Streetlaw has opened a gateway to pro Bono work for me and in the future I definitely intend to further develop my experience across the field by hopefully participating in more projects and contributing more to the local community!"

"The experience of working with my teammates in delivering a presentation on asylum seekers’ rights for the organisation Shpresa has been extremely rewarding and enjoyable. I have learned a lot about the UK asylum seeking process and the issues surrounding it. The project has also given me an opportunity to consider the global refugee concern and the difficulties faced by vulnerable groups from people experiencing it first-hand. It has been a meaningful experience for my personal development. To future Streetlaw presenters, have compassion and be willing to make contributions. And most importantly, enjoy the process!!"

"Working with my team to deliver a presentation for asylum seekers was very rewarding. It gave me the chance to research a new area of law and put it to use with the presentation. I would highly encourage anyone seeking to develop their communication skills to take part in this program. It was fulfilling to work in a great team and to learn how to adapt the presentation content to engage the audience. I was also delighted to meet asylum seekers from different cultures and hopefully make a difference to their lives."
